Well 2008 was a painful year for braiding...

Most people think braiding only involves your hands and finger dexterity. Let me tell you it involves alot more.

I tend to make a boat load of medallion cords for several groups (Kingdoms, Baronies, and Household) each year.  This year was no different.

I made Lilies War largesse cords for the Kingdom of the Outlands in May.  After all of those (I can braid a foot/hr usually with the pattern used, but took me the entire month), my usually aches and pains didn't quite go away.  So ok I think I've overdone it once again.

As the year progresses the aches and pains actually progresively get worse so finally in October I go to the doctor who then sends me off with heavier pain meds and for Xrays.  Xrays come back with you have a bone spur in your rotator cuff area here is a referral to ortho.  So in November I get in to see the Ortho and more xrays and sent for an MRI.  MRI comes back well you have a tear in the rotator cuff from the bone spur rubbing, what's your schedule for oh say the next 4-6 months?.... Well Doc you can have all the time up to March will that work?  So Mid December I had rotator cuff surgery, well it wasn't just a tear but a full torn rotator cuff so full open surgery...

So now after surgery and almost 3 months or physical therapy I have been cleared to build up to my prior activity level but to just be way careful with lifting and doing overhead stuff....

Now it's late August,  I am just now getting back up to speed with braiding and all the other stuff so now I'm trying to find all the photos of what is not on this website yet....
